Call Of Duty Elite Reaches 1M Paid Subscribers

Activision is assuring gamers that the cavalry is on the way for its free and premium online service Call of Duty Elite.

The company says that it expects to continue to roll out features for the service as things progress, and that everything should be fully operational by December 1.

The Elite platform has had problems since its launch alongside Modern Warfare 3 on November 8, but it is up and running for Xbox 360 and PS3 owners. The exact release of the PC version of Elite is still up in the air.

In other Elite news, Activision says that one million gamers have signed up for the paid, premium version of the service in its first six days. The company also says that four million people have registered for Elite (which also has a free component) over all.

  • So does this mean better chances for PC to get Elite?
  • What exactly is the benefit of Elite?
  • So will we get the first map pack free as a makeup for the service not working right? I know its a trick question but still it would be nice and not greedy.
  • I'm still trying to figure out why people would actually pay for something like Elite...
  • Geez.  How could they have no expected this?

  • 'bout time.

  • Right on time? *sarcasm shrug*

  • I want this game. COME ON FRIDAY!
  • I really wanted to like this game mainly cause most if not all of my friends are playing it, but I don't know, it's kind of boring. And of course I'm talking about the MP. I find it quite easy to get kills... Hmmm, still on the fence for this one. Oh well, back to Skyrim.
  • don't care, don't care, don't care....
  • well to bad i traded well sold my copy online
  • I was wondering why I could not sign in...

  • Finally ... Still not buying but the 12 years olds can be happy
  • the call of duty brand is bullet proof teflon. If this was any other company the consumers would of buried them, for a failed 2 week pay stat tracking service.
  • If they charge $15 for the map packs again I might blow up Activision.
  • So I guess the whole November 8th thing didn't matter to them. They should have expected this type of response. You don't see any reports about them under-supplying and game sell out's now do you. Stupid of you Activision. Now get the darn site working 24x7 so I can enjoy my investment. Thank you!
  • Proud Elite member right here. I'm not even that good at CoD, I just love the series. Elite, so far, has been a pretty good stat tracking tool. It's interesting to see which weapons I'm more proficient with, etc. All in all, it's a useful tool. It's just cool to be a founder, and to be able to get the DLC early.

  • this is no different than the battlelog for battlefield 3, except you are paying... and in that price it includes the DLC... i would never pre-pay for DLC, because I am never sure enough if im going to be keeping that game long enough to obtain all the DLC... i haven't played a game where it's like "I have to keep this forever" ...in a long, long time... =(... but this is just me... im not speaking for everyone.. just myself.

  • I am just so disgusted by these cod stats. It's pathetic.

  • Do you know what would be awesome? If it was free.
