What will Metal Gear Solid 5 be like? We don't know yet, and neither does series creator Hideo Kojima.

The upcoming issue of the Official PlayStation Magazine UK promised details on the forthcoming game, though it appears there's not much to reveal at this time. In the interview with the magazine, Kojima said the next game will probably have to be made eventually but is not in active development.

“I think we’ll probably have to make it at some point, but what that will be, we have no idea," he said when asked about a new game. "As far as my involvement in the project is concerned, [it] probably won’t be as much as it was with MGS1 – maybe I can do just one stage! For MGS1 I made the maps myself, laid out the enemy routes myself, did everything hands-on – that level I can’t do again.”

Would someone please tell developers/publishers to stop announcing games that are more than 2 years away from being released. 2 good examples are Final Fantasy Versus and Metal Gear Solid Rising.

As long as Kojima dose a littal bit of the game it dosent matter MGS is one of the most popular games out there. KOJIAM PRODUCTIONS ROCK ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Interesting stuff. It's probably OK to assume that we won't see Metal Gear Solid 5 anytime soon. And when I say that, I mean probably not for another 2 years.

What a terrible way to make a sequel. If he can't find anything to do creatively with it, then he should let the series be. MGS4 tied up most loose ends as it is, why make one out of obligation? Because of the fans? I'd like to think fans would agree that a series should end when it feels organic to the story and the creativity of the development team, and not a moment before or after.

Actually, I was wondering if and how Kojima would bring back Snake and I remembered that there's supposed to be another clone somewhere in the world. If I remember right the Snake from Metal Gear Acid 2 turned out to be a clone of Solid Snake and, as far as I know, he wouldn't have been infected with Foxdie and may not have the aging problem.

And as I typed that I realised just how overly complicated and unlikely that probably is.

well just in case you Metal Gear Solid fans, i have a short news about the new upcoming MGS5, i can only say that itll have some remakes and new features, youll see snake in action and youll see some familiar places & faces, i bet this is what you all have been waiting for, heres a small hint 'MGS1'
