The lights are on
Nerd-centric company iam8bit is hosting a gallery showcasing Jason Brockert's American Icon series of paintings for the next month (seen here). The free opening party kicks off this week.
If you're in the Los Angeles area and have a hankering for new gaming-based art, head on over to iam8bit's gallery on Friday, November 18 for the opening reception. Be sure to check out the American Icons website for all the details on attending and ordering prints. Brockert will be at the show's opening and music will be provided by DJ R-Rated.
We've got a few art samples from iam8bit in the media gallery below if you'd like to browse and see if anything tickles your fancy.

Need to fix the picture gallery in most articles. (including this one)
Well, I'm on the complete opposite side of the country from L.A., but all of this looks really awesome.
Wow, these are... they're really beautiful. They express some of the America's greatest cultural phenomenons through their most mundane elements. Amazing. Also, the Who Shot First one made me chuckle.
I really like that Nintendo piece. I want to try and buy a print of it. Unfortunately, I'm a long way from L.A. It would be really nice if they had an exhibit around the end of February though. I'll be in San Francisco and I would make the trek to L.A. to attend it.
Unfortunately, I'm on the wrong side of the Missippi River to attend this, but if it ever migrated to Philidelphia or NYC I would love to go.
This artist is amazing
I used to have a Darth Vader action figure that looked exactly like the one in that painting.
Man, I wish I lived out near L.A. so I could see this art exhibit.
I'd love to go to a gaming museum!
