Get Caught Up On The Assassin's Creed Story Before Revelations

Assassin's Creed Revelations, the fourth in Ubisoft's beloved, narratively dense series, launches in just a few days. Whether you're a long-time fan eager for answers but in need of a refresher or a series newbie wondering what's going on before you jump in, Ubisoft figured everyone could use a quick history lesson.

In this video, Ubisoft provides a two-and-a-half-minute run-down of all of the major events that took place in Assassin's Creed 1 and 2 as well as last year's Brotherhood. There are a few big pieces missing -- such as that crazy twist Desmond goes through at the end of Brotherhood -- but all in all it's a good primer for what to expect next week.

My only hope is that Revelations really digs in and provides some resolution -- or at least significant movement forward -- for some of the mysteries that have been plaguing this series since the start.

  • I really needed that, but I still don't understand what happened at the end of Brotherhood.
  • desmond looks like a total d-bag now.
  • why does it have to come out days after skyrim??????
  • Huh. That's kind of cool. I mean, if that's actually Desmond talking, then that means he's still nice and self-aware, which, after the ending of Brotherhood, is more than I expected.
  • This is the first trailer to actually get me excited about the game. I'm ready to be Ezio once again.
  • So excited for this game! Yeah for Tuesday!

  • Am I the only one who loves Assassins Creed 1 and v2, but hated Brotherhood? That game sucked, in my opinion. This new game though looks awesome! I seriously hope it'll beb etter than Brotherhood
  • Balls to it, already re-started the series

  • Can't wait my pre-order should arrive monday :)

  • Oh Jesus. This makes so much more sense. Thank you, Ubisoft.

  • So now I find out you get ac1 for free on ps3 after I already preordered it on xbox? Eh, I think I'd still get it on xbox
  • lol I would love to play all three games again but there is no way I have time for all that :(. Totally can't wait till Monday though, midnite launch!!!! Gonna wear my awesome ACB shirt!!!!!

  • This was a concise but informative summary of such a complex plot. I can't wait for Revelations and the answers they've been promising. (No doubt those answers will just raise more questions, in true AC style.)

  • I cant wait for tuesday.

  • Ubisoft making sense?!? THE WORLD IS GOING TO END! Just joking. That is what I was getting at with the whole story. Yet will say I somewhat stopped playing AC1 as I just grew bored with the whole side mission quests that you have to do so many to go on with the main story. I mean it is nice touch but really after a while it just grew frustrating. Yet AC2 was the point of where I started to love the story and was okay skipping the first one and wasn't too lost. In fact think got more of the story playing the second game lol. I cannot wait for this game. COME ON BE TUESDAY!!!
  • That was a really good refresher. Hits the main points, but make you want to learn more. Revelations hopefully will merge the whole story together.

  • You guys used my news tip! Yay! Don't understand why Ubisoft posted this video unlisted, its so helpful...

  • getting this at midnight launch!!!

  • This has gotten me so pumped up for revelations, i cant wait to kick some Templar A$$.

  • Very basic summary but I understand, they don't want to completely spoil the other games for people.
