The lights are on
Sony Online's DC Universe garnered generally strong reviews, but failed to achieve success as a subscription-driven massively multiplayer game. To jumpstart the game's player base, Sony made a decision to change DCUO to a free-to-play business model. So far, it looks like the move is a success.Today, Sony Online revealed that one million new players have signed up to play since the game went free-to-play."DC Universe Online's transition to free-to-play has been welcomed by the community and gamers with heroic enthusiasm. In just one week alone, 1 million new players have joined DCUO with a 50/50 split between PC and PS3."
Have you tried DC Universe Online since it went free-to-play? What do you think of the game so far.

I downloaded it from Steam the other day. Played through the intro. It seems pretty fun, so I'll probably invest more time into it.
I just started playing after it went F2P and I really enjoy it so far. Should get a few good months out of playing it.
...And one of those people is me.
I've never thought the game was very good. There are some combinations of skills/powers that are so insanely overpowered that everyone who wants to compete in pvp uses the same stuff.
This game was never really on top of the list
I love the game so far. In fact, I think Imma go play it right now...
My Hero's name is FoHammer. He uses telekinesis and guns.
I would have tried it out but with BF3 and now Skyrim, I have no time for this game.
I's is one of those free-to-play guys.
I played Guild Wars, and WoW, and I thought I was just not an MMO kind of guy after those games bored me away. I thought I'd give DCUO a chance since I dig superheros a lot, and I was surprised at how fast the game felt like it was moving compared to the slow moving "get me this" quest and grinding fantasy MMOs. I loved it! Definitely gonna put some time into this... after I finish up skyrim though... which could take a while... a long while...
