Call of Duty Elite Memberships Extended 30 Days

Due to the ongoing launch issues with Call of Duty Elite, Activision said it will extend premium memberships by 30 days at no additional cost.

"If you’re still considering becoming a premium member, we’re going to extend Founder eligibility until the end of the month, and you will also receive the additional 30 days of access," the publisher stated.

An update was posted today on the official website provided the latest on Elite. Activision reaffirmed gameplay data from both Black Ops and MW3 is safely stored, and it will all be available once these issues are resolved.

"Many of you are trying to get in and unfortunately, you can’t right now. You’re frustrated, we know it, and we know we need to fix it," the publisher said. "Our teams have been working non-stop to identify issues and resolve them as quickly as possible. Again, these issues have no impact on the performance of the game."

  • thats nice of them. its important to note, especially for fanboys, that elite server issues for MW and origin issues for BF are not factors in the (f)lame wars, or at least they shouldn't be. stuff happens.
  • "Membershipa"? not trying to be a jerk, but I think you made a typo there Jim :)

  • nice move. still have to get my founder code in there.

  • membershipa!?!?!wow...
  • Lucky for those people.

  • Well, its good to see them doing something about it.

i was happy enough that MW3 didn't have any large hiccups (or any that i noticed) during the first night.  as for the game play its self... that's a different story

  • I pre-ordered the hardened edition, so I get it for a year for free. That is, unless I keep getting *** over like with EA's Battlelog. God hates me!
  • Well that's pretty nice, good to know they can offer a good bit of extra fun, and the extra 30 days of Elite technically means free Elite for a month for Black Ops 2 for anyone who subscribed.

  • I was in last night on my PS3. Not bad considering most of the content there is free. I didn't really take my time to fully explore it though. I'm looking forward to when accessing Elite becomes much less dependent on luck. I've been trying all day at work with no success.

  • Who cares the game *** sucks!
  • As many problems as it has had, I think it's still a lot more accessible than Battlefield's similar online service. Then again, you gotta pay money for the full service of CoD's, so there's that...
  • See exactly? So much for EA sucking uh COD fanboys? Everybody has server problems in the beginning and right now MW3 MP lags like a mofo. So to be a D hahahahahahaahah in your face Activision is evil bla bla bla. No but seriously just stick what you like. Fair?
  • I just want the free stuff that comes with my premium/founder status. I can deal with not having access right now. Still enjoying MW3 (AND BF3).
  • MW3 Hardened Edition? Waste of money!
  • lol

  • Awesome news. This should make plenty gamers happy.
  • I came in, hoping to say something bad about Call of Duty, the retarded Elite service, and just Activision in general.

Then I realized that everything I could say has already been said. These hilarious launch issues are just the different-colored icing on a stale, re-baked cake.

Just my 2 cents. Everyone has an opinion, I guess...
