Prove You're Worthy To Watch Michael Bay's Need For Speed Commercial
Normally, a company rewards you with cool free stuff or new maps if you use Facebook to broadcast your enthusiasm for its products. In EA's case, you get a commercial from explosion expert Michael Bay…because people love commercials.
That's right – this commercial is apparently so awesome that you can't just watch it. You must earn the right to watch it by supporting the Need for Speed: The Run Facebook page. Bay is known for his brainless popcorn action movies like The Rock (pictured above), Transformers, and Armageddon, so the commercial will probably have his signature over-the-top moments. The way I see it, this had better be the best video game commercial ever made if EA's going to make fans do a bunch of its marketing legwork just to see an advertisement.
Additionally, the press release announcing the Bay/EA collaboration calls Need for Speed: The Run "this holiday's most anticipated release." Uh-huh. The Run comes out on November 15, alongside allegedly less-anticipated games like Assassin's Creed: Revelations, Saints Row: The Third, and Rayman: Origins. Also, an underground, practically unheard-of game called Skyrim will have come out a few days earlier.
