Original Sonic The Hedgehog Unlockable In Sonic Generations

Sonic Generations is being billed as a tour of Sonic's digital history, so it's appropriate that the original game would be an unlockable bonus.

The existence of the bonus was revealed at a panel during Paris Games Week. Unfortunately, the original is the only classic Sonic that will appear.

Sonic Generations will be releasing for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, and 3DS on November 1.

  • really, im not surprised....or excited :(
  • That's cool, I guess.
  • ive lost faith in sonic games.

EDIT: not because of this game but because of all the other sonic games.
  • Okay.

  • After reading the title, I thought that the original sonic character would be an unlockable instead of available from the start, but now im happier. It doesn't really matter considering I'm not buying it unless it starts looking much better.

  • I really wasn't a sonic fan because I had an SNES. Ill pass on this until I read reviews and catch up on the big holiday games.
  • that's the only classic that need appear.

  • Not too surprised.

  • dang, theres been no news today
  • i still gota beat sonic unleashed and then get this
  • ok this must be a joke!
  • too bad its not sonic 2 or 3. both are much better than the original.

  • Great still not getting this game
  • Don't u get the feeling that sonic would sell his soul 2 b Mario or atleast luigi 4 a day...
  • Um cool....
  • This is the first thing I've heard about this game that actually makes it somewhat appealing. Sadly, amidst the glut of releases these past few weeks with Arkham City, Rage, Deus Ex:HR, Ico/SotC Collection, Dead Island, Dark Souls, Driver: San Francisco and El Shaddai... plus Battlefield 3, Skyrim and Assassin's Creed: Revelations on the immediate horizon, I simply have no time for Sonic. And with all these AAA titles, spending on a Sonic game seems like a gamble with little chance for payoff. Anyone else think Sega should have pushed this back past the holidays, maybe a mid-January or February 2012 release? I think it's commercial suicide for them to release it now.
  • Awesome. More free stuff is always good.
  • That blue ball of speed has broken my heart,to a lesser degree controllers, too many times for me to get excited.

  • This Sonic is looking pretty promising & no one is talking about it.
