Shadowrun Online Announced

Cliffhanger Productions revealed it's developing a free-to-play, browser-based Shadowrun game.

Dubbed "Shadowrun Online," the new game will be supported through microtransactions with a beta pegged for sometime next year. The prototype screenshot released shows the use of an isometic camera, ditching the first-person pespective found in the 2007 release for Xbox 360 and PC.

A developer Q&A posted on the team's official forums should answer most of your questions about the project so far. One highlight:

Q: What can you tell us to scare away the evil spirit of the recent xbox 'shadowrun' game?

A: It is nothing like the xbox game.
