London Philharmonic Records Video Game-Themed Album

Gamers seeking still more validation for their hobby have something new to look forward to. The London Philharmonic Orchestra has recorded an album of themes from a variety of video games, proving that the London Philharmonic Orchestra likes to make money.

The album will be available both at retail and digitally on November 8. It includes 21 tracks pulled from some of the most recognizable tunes in all of gaming. Also, the Angry Birds theme.

Here's what's on The Greatest Video Game Music album:

1. Advent Rising: Muse (Composed by Tommy Tallarico, Emmanuel Fratianni, and Laurie Robinson)
2. Legend of Zelda: Suite (Composed by Koji Kondo)
3. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2: Theme (Composed by Hans Zimmer)

Is there any possibility of getting the actual music so that I could play these songs? I plan on at least minoring in music and would love to play these songs at one of my concerts with school

Incredibly awesome. Great picks. I will almost undoubtedly get this sooner or later. i wish they had sampled zelda or mass effect rather than MW2 though. I mean really. if you're gonna be artsy...show us some art.

That is such an exceptionally awesome mix of pieces... and yes, the art for the event is quite awesome as well. Interesting that the date coincides with MW3, and includes 2 MW series tunes... but the art is obviously in vane of BF3... the whole list only has a single BF series track, one from #2 before they even used that art style for their covers x.x Whatever though, still very cool.

Oooh I could throw in so many Final Fantasy songs that deserve to be here, but this is such a good list I won't complain. Besides, they have FF concerts for that.
