Game Characters: Thanks For Everything, Players

Last week, Sony released a mysterious video, filled with loads of game references. It ended with a tease to 10-5-2011. As luck would have it, that just happens to be today's date. What was Sony cooking? How does a roundabout "thank you" to players everywhere sound?

I've probably already said enough, so check out the video below and enjoy the gratitude – particularly if your name happens to be Michael.

After watching it, did you have a favorite cameo?

  • Fun! Now they need one, "To Justin!"
  • I love the Sackboy playing chess with Sweettooth. Also my middle name is Michael so thank you!

  • Wait a minute... my name is Michael!!! I'm freaking out!!!!!

  • That was awesome. That was really, really awesome. Sony took time and money out to simply make a thank you video. I am impressed. And boy did Drake actually look like Drake! And even Cole looked exactly like Cole! Solid Snake needed a little work though lol.

  • that was Amazing!

  • That is an awesome commercial. Props to whatever marketing genius came up with that. I think my favorite cameo was a tie between Cole and Nathan Drake. I'm the camp of Nathan Fillion for Nathan Drake, but I would say that the actor in the commercial would kill as him.

  • Anybody else get teary eyed??
  • this is awesome,it shows how important being a gamer is to me

  • Best cameo was snake for obvious reasons...he's f*cking snake.
  • This movie wont load on my stupid computer...

  • W-was that David hayter?
  • Can we at least wait until all the WWII D-Day veterans die before we disrespect their sacrifice by pretending we did it in a video game?
  • Snake leaning on the wall was classic...

  • my name is michael.....

  • That was actually pretty awesome.

Oh, and Ezio. Definitely Ezio, and seconded by Cole.

  • no love for john? :(

  • Epic commercial!  Snaaaaaaake!

  • Lightning anyone?

  • Just want to point out that it's only a thanks to you if your name is Michael and you look like the guy in the picture, not to all Michaels. (Although I do get that it's gamers in general, could have been cool for it to somehow have been interactive whereby you enter your name at the start or something)

On another note, pleasantly surprised. Kudos to Sony.
  • that was great. loved nathan drake.
