Lara Croft Gets Artsy For Her 15th Anniversary

by Joe Juba on Oct 04, 2011 at 07:20 AM

The original Tomb Raider came out in October 1996, and Crystal Dynamics is celebrating the series 15th anniversary with an art exhibition that will showcase eight unique pieces featuring Lara Croft.

The first depiction of Lara (posted in full below) was created by artist Andy Park. New pieces are scheduled to be unveiled as the month goes on, and you can keep up by visiting the exhibition page. At the end of the month, you'll see a featured piece from Toby Gard, the creator of the Tomb Raider series (and Galleon! Remember Galleon?).

If you're hoping for some more old-school Lara, it looks like you're out of luck. The art seems to be focused on her new look. Lara's new design for the upcoming Tomb Raider reboot is a bit of a departure from her previous style, so it will be interesting to see how different artists portray this industry icon.
