Leon S. Kennedy is in the upcoming Resident Evil: Retribution 3D, and actress Milla Jovovich has confirmed that Johann Urb will be playing the role. You might remember Urb from such films as Eastwick, 2012, and The Hottie and the Nottie.

Jovovich confirmed the casting in a recent tweet: "AND if u checked out my vid yesterday from the table reading u wld hve noticed Johann Urb! He is our Leon Kennedy n looks jst like him BTW!!"

Judging from the images above, there is a pretty decent resemblance between the two, right down to the same dopey haircut. In the film, Kennedy is leader of a resistance movement who helps Jovovich battle the Umbrella Corporation and zombies. Didn't they do all of that already? I have to admit, my memory of these movies is growing increasingly hazy.

I'm kind of torn on the RE movies. For one thing, they are kind of terrible and stray from the games in key ways. But on the other hand, the games aren't exactly known for having fantastic stories (and that is putting it lightly).

You know, I really liked the first RE. It had some crappy moments, but for the most part was decent. And the fact that they stayed away from messing with the video game characters was something I appreciated. Then they totally screwed things up after that. I just wish they would stop.

About time they make a Resident Evil movie with my favorite Resident Evil character from my favorite Resident Evil game... I don't even remotely remember the plot after the second movie, but I'll be sure to watch it specifically because of Leon Kennedy.

Leoooooonnnn! Finally! But is it too little, too late? We wanted him in Resident Evil: Apocalypse. I didn't like how they handled Chris Redfield, kind of a letdown. I'll give it a chance though. I'll always support Resident Evil, it's one of my favorite game franchises.
