Deadliest Warrior: Ancient Combat Coming To Stores This December

by Jeff Cork on Oct 01, 2011 at 09:47 AM

Spike TV's Deadliest Warrior show is one of those things that expertly blends dumb and awesome together into a guilty-pleasure swirl. Developer 345 Games released a pair of downloadable fighting games based on the series, which pits historical figures from various eras together to determine who is the, ahem, the deadliest warrior. Now the games are being bundled together in a new retail release, which adds a host of additional goodies.

Deadliest Warrior: Ancient Combat has all of the characters and weapons from Deadliest Warrior: The Game and its follow-up, Deadliest Warrior: Legends, along with never-before-seen episodes from the series' three seasons, a new graveyard level, and an expanded arsenal. We recorded 15 minutes of Deadliest Warrior gameplay when it first came out, and even though we were completely awful at it then, you can at least get the gist of it. It's a methodically paced game, though matches can end in seconds if players don't keep their guards up. It's a lot like Bushido Blade in that respect.

If you're still on the fence, perhaps the video below will convince you to care.

Deadliest Warrior: Ancient Combat is coming to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this December at a suggested price of $29.99.
