New Skyward Sword Info On Zelda's Dad And Link's Rival

Nintendo has been pretty mum on The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword's story up until now. Fortunately, we can now bring you a few tidbits about the role Zelda's father and Link's school rival will play in the game.

Groose has been Link's nemesis since the two were just kids. He's jealous of Link's relationship with Zelda, and we're guessing it's because he has a crush on the pointy-eared damsel. Groose is Link's biggest competition in the bird-flying race.

Gaepora is Zelda's dad, and also the headmaster at Link's school. It sounds like he'll act as an authority figure and Skyloft historian. The name of Zelda's dad is remarkably similar to the that of the owl from Ocarina of time, Kaepora Gaebora. Could the similarity be due to each character playing the role of a wise sage?

Maybe in the next Zelda game, it could be called "The Legend of Link" and you would play as Zelda and save Link by killing Ganaon's wife. That'd be cool.

I don't get it. IF Zelda has a set timeline, then are there multiple Link's? Is that why he's called Link? Because all the Link's are somehow connected? It's so confusing.

I hope gross Groose gets turned into Ganondorf. Look at that hair, and the earing, and he has a thing for Zelda, and he's Link's rival. Coincidence? I DO NOT BELIEVE IN THEM!

this is like the first Zelda game when you actually see Zelda have a family. I'm really liking Skyward Sword more and more. All these little things they're adding make it seem more fresh

Oh god, your giving me flash backs of all the debates and arguments as to what Kaepora Gaebora really was. because he couldn't possibly just be an Owl, nooo he had to be the Sage of Light or the @#$#@(%@#$%*(!.

yeah groose is biff from back to the future. And kaepora gaebora and gaepora are one in the same. Gaepora is a sage who helped lock up the triforce and he was reincarnated as the owl. Not spoilers these observations were just in the other games.

Am i the only one who's not really digging Zelda's look in this game? its not bad by any means it just does not look like how i imagine Zelda. her face is too.....round i guess. i'm used to her having sharper features.

PS am i the only one that thinks the rival kinda looks like Waaka from FFX? makes me like him even less.
