The lights are on
Isaac Clarke on Hoth? Maybe. The recent scuttlebutt on Dead Space 3 may reveal the new location and some major plot points for the sequel.
If this ends up being true, keep in mind that the following information will contain spoilers.
Siliconera claims to have word from a trusted source that Isaac crash lands on a snowy wasteland, and eventually makes his way to an unmanned waystation. He eventually runs into Ellie, the one of the few survivors from Dead Space 2’s Sprawl. Ellie, Isaac, and a third survivor are rumored to climb a mountain mid-blizzard, complete with mysterious monster noises. The enemy of Dead Space 3 is supposedly the “hive mind.”
We can’t be certain whether any of this is true or not, but the scenario does sound pretty awesome. Would you play a Dead Space set on a frozen planet?

that sounds like a cool idea. dead space 2 was quite honestly, *** awesome. it had a lot of improvements over the first, the gameplay just felt soo smooth, and the zero-g jetpacking sequences were the ***. hopefully they just dont multiplayer though and focus solely on an awesome sp campaign
that wat up *** dead space the ***
Sounds like the first Lost Planet.
I thought "The Thing" when I saw this article.
As Ben said, I don't care where it ends up, it's Dead Space, one of my favorite franchises. That reminds me, I still have to finish my playthrough on hardcore difficulty, but *** I used my second save at the wrong time (chapter 7) so playing through that all the way through chapter 14, no way. Will definitely beat it before Dead Space 3 comes out though, I always have and always will.
I think th sounds really cool. Could make for a really tense setting!
NOVEMBER COVER! PLEASE! SHOW US THE FROSTY NECROMORPHS!
Dead Space are awesome video games, they rock and hell yes I'd play the third. I'm really looking forward to it. Snowy planet sounds kinda iffy but Dead Space is the ***.
Sounds pretty cool. Snow might not seem terrifying, but it's very easy to turn it into something that is. For example, Hoth. Right, in the movies it seems nice and cozy. If anyone is familiar with the Wampa attack though, that's absolutely horrifying. It's dark, freezing cold, you can't see, you can barely move through the cold, and these beasts just come out of nowhere, through walls, and tear your entire base to shreds. Like, literally rips people apart and feasts on their frozen corpse. It's pretty brutal, and strikes me as one of the scarier things I've ever heard. I'm still waiting for someone to implement that successfully. I wouldn't doubt Dead Space being able to pull it off.
this story is sounding a lot like Lost Planet 1. I will keep my ears open, but know that I will never buy or play A FREAKING HORROR GAME.....EVER!
I can see an ice/snow environment being scary, look at games like The Thing or that new Resident Evil game (can't remember the title) where Chris has to fight off undead wolves in the arctic.
Plus it's not like the entire game would be outside, plenty of opportunity for Issac to stumble into an underground bunker or crashed ship.
i was expecting Earth since, in dead space lore, the first marker (the black one) was found on earth
I think that would be something pretty fun indead space 3
