Over 3 Million Gears Of War 3 Units Sold In First Week
There is no shortage of COG enlistees for Marcus Fenix and the gang’s most recent battle against the Locust. In its first week on the shelves, Epic’s Gears of War 3 sold more than three million copies.
According to VGchartz, Gears of War 3 enjoyed the biggest 360 launch this year. It falls behind GTA IV as the sixth best 360 launch of all time. Not even Nintendo’s army of collectible critters could compete with Epic’s tour de force, as Gears 3 outsold the US releases of Pokémon Black/White.
It turns out a lot of people really want to play Gears of War 3. I’m knee deep in the 4-player co-op campaign myself, and can definitely understand why over three million people snatched it up so quickly.
