Modern Warfare 3 Achievements Leaked

Wondering how to sum up the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 campaign one terse sentence at a time? Look no further than the leaked achievement list for Activision's upcoming shooter. Beware the extremely minor spoilers that come after the break.

In presumed chronological order, here are the tasks you'll be completing in Modern Warfare 3. Again, these are spoilers

  • Destroy the Jamming Tower
  • Take back New York Harbor.
  • Escape the mountain safe house.
  • Defend the Russian President.
  • Infiltrate the village.
  • Make it to Westminster.
  • Save the US Vice President.
  • Assault the shipping company.
  • Track down Volk.
  • Escape Paris with Volk.
  • Reach the church.
  • Escape the city.
  • Discover Makarov's next move.
  • Find the girl.
  • Rescue the Russian President.

Rescuing the Russian president? What are the odds that the story has a coherent explanation for that one?

A ton of achievements for the special ops and survival modes round out the usual campaign fare. As expected, competitive multiplayer has no achievements associated with it -- which is fine, since rewarding specific feats in multiplayer always ends up with people playing for the achievement and not the actual game at hand. There's nothing like losing a tight match because some idiot on your team is doing nothing but trying to get three headshots in a row in last stand mode or whatever.

Only the Xbox achievements have been leaked so far, but it'll be a surprise if the PS3 and PC achievements differ in any significant way.

Modern Warfare 3 hits all three HD platforms on November 8.

  • Those are the blandest descriptions I have ever read. "Find the girl?"
  • only 15 campaigns. it will take 7 hours. typical COD  story again. developers never realize competition or innovation at all. don't buy this crap.

  • The plot is open ended? you can't stop the bad guy yet? does this mean there will be another Modern Warfare? maybe in 2 years? whoa!?!?!?!?!?

  • And by "the Russian President" they really mean "Tim Allen."

  • if you look there is no achievement for dealing with Makarov. so you know what that means MW4
Oh and Adam good job with the minor spoilers part that was funny
  • Save the Russian president and the U.S Vice president?

  • Obama is a BEAST!

  • I wish they would stop releasing COD games yearly and rather release a new one every two or even three years to keep the series fresh and not turn this into another tony hawk. Look how that turned out.

  • COD SUCKS! haha sorry couldnt resist...but Spec-Ops mode looks cool.
  • For the love of god, stop with the stupid bickering. Those of you arguing over preference are acting like children trying to prove who has the better toys.

I'm buying both of them. I'm buying MW3 so I can finish the story started with the first game (because I like to know how stories end) and I'm buying Battlefield 3 because, lets be honest, it looks amazing and anyone who enjoys shooters needs to have this game. I'll play both Multiplayers because I've enjoyed BOTH of them in the past.

If you don't like one or the other - don't buy it. It's so simple, it's disgusting. Trashing the competition doesn't make you look like you know what you're talking about, it makes you look like an idiot. Who fights over video games? I mean, really? It reminds me of Socom 4 and their forums; everyone TRASHED the game, talked about how it was so terrible and blah blah blah. Was the game any good? Not really. But that's my position. And instead of joining the other nitwits on the boards, I did the easier and smarter thing: I sold the game.

I don't understand you people who are all "OMG this game is going to be such crap, it's such a trainwreck - I can't believe anyone would buy that."

Shut up. Just. Shut. Up. You're either buying the game or you're not - if you're not, you really have no reason to talk about the game like it kicked your dog and stole your girlfriend. Talking trash about something so subjective as taste in video games is asinine.
  • @JetForceGemini99 If you mean that you haven't bought any Call of Duty games, does that also mean you haven't played them? 'Cause that would add a lot of credibility to your statement... /sarcasm.

The fact is that the campaigns are actually well made and very entertaining. You should try them sometime..

  • cod is an okay franchise, if u like your soda waterd down, but i will be picking this one up simply for the campaign, for the simple fact capt price is one of the most beloved game hero's ( opinion )but i will get it proabley round feb or march just for the campaign, gotta know what happens to price.
  • Hmm.

  • Interesting.

  • No achievement for killing Makorov...

Unless they didn't spoil it as an achievement, it makes me think they're just going to leave that plot thread hanging too.

Not like I care a whole lot, after BlOps I told myself I wouldn't be buying another CoD game. It's just they could've done something interesting, thematically, with the Makorov/Airport level but watered it down with incoherency and made it strictly shocking for the sake of it.
  • So Im assuming the US president is killed?

  • what is the 3rd hd platform? it better be pc cus the wii isnt...

  • Yea right. Leaked my ass!
