BioWare Still Interested In Jade Empire Sequel

by Jeff Marchiafava on Sep 25, 2011 at 05:48 AM

BioWare might be most commonly associated with the Mass Effect and Dragon Age franchises nowadays, but 2005's Jade Empire remains a favorite amongst gamers. It turns out BioWare's CEO Ray Muzyka is a pretty big fan as well, and at this year's Eurogamer Expo he gave players a new reason to be hopeful for a sequel.

"We've been talking a lot about [Jade Empire] actually on and off over the years," Muzyka told the audience. "It's an IP, it's a setting that we're really passionate about, and we still are. Both Greg [Zeschuck] and I were big believers in the IP. We're just looking for the right way to deploy it."

With the final installment in the Mass Effect trilogy set to release next March, could this be the perfect time for BioWare to start on a Jade Empire sequel? Heck, we're just going to say it: BioWare, this is the perfect time to start on a Jade Empire sequel!
