Call Of Duty Elite PS3 Beta Starts Today

by Adam Biessener on Sep 19, 2011 at 08:36 AM

Jump into the PlayStation's first public version of Activision's next-gen stat tracking/community portal/contest hub/social network with Call of Duty: Black Ops today to start getting a taste of what's coming with the full Elite roll-out with Modern Warfare 3 in November.

Elite does everything except make you lunch, and has been doing so for Xbox beta users since July. Read a detailed description of the service, check out the differences between the free and paid versions, see Elite in motion, and read the FAQ for more.

Interestingly, the press release Activision sent along refers to the upcoming nine-month DLC season for Modern Warfare 3. Hearing that Activision has a road map for post-release content is no surprise, but knowing that it's a nine-month plan specifically is somewhat interesting. Wait -- does this mean that roughly twelve months after MW3 we'll get a new Call of Duty game, perhaps this time from Treyarch? Fascinating!
