  • Does anyway get the feeling that this is going to be one of those cult hits? I know it's looking promising. I just hope that the Starhawk has the same scope of maps as Warhawk and that it has the many different choices of playstyle. Judging from the trailer, Starhawk looks like I won't be disappointed.

  • Now that is freaking awesome. Maybe in a year, I'll have gotten a PS3.

  • Is this an RTS? I can't tell.
  • That looks amazing good thing I have a ps3!
  • Wow, this looks awesome, and it still has more than a year to go! I like how everything transforms, like the building drops, and vehicles. Looks epic, still need to get a internet connection on my PS3... Oh, and how are the guns going to work in a zero atmosphere enviroment?
  • Wow, that was pretty awesome. PlayStation is looking to start 2012 with a bang.

  • THAT...WAS...AWESOME!!!!

  • Holy ******* ****!!! Starhawk is going to ROCK!

  • GOD DANGIT!!!!

  • Screw the laws of physics in space. This is starhawk biotch

  • I'm getting a strong Tribes vibe off of this one... that is to say, I like it.
  • I can't wait for this game. And this trailer just amazing, seems like they have really raised the bar from Warhawk with Starhawk. Now I just have to go preorder the game.

  • Okay - the game looks cool. That makes me happy. The art direction - now that they've shown off space - is really working for me now. But my problem with the title persists; it's not really focused on aerial combat. It's still just a typical third person shooter with an online multiplayer focus - that bites. There are a thousand quality games like that already. Even the much-vaunted "drop stuff from the sky" has been done before; and it was fun in The Outfit and Section 8 Prejudice already.

I'm still just steamed from back when Warhawk came out, and Incognito (now Lightbox) came out and said they turned it into a Battlefront-type game because focusing on aerial combat would be boring, or they couldn't design a great experience around it or some dumb excuse. They shouldn't have called it Warhawk then; so I'm glad they changed their thing into "Starhawk" instead. But still; anyone whose played Crimson Skies, Rogue Squadron, Star Fox or Panzer Dragoon can't be seeing much they like here. This is so much a typical third person shooter, instead of a unique (in today's marketplace) arcade flight action title.

Just look at these levels. They're clearly built for on-ground action. There's no reason to fly so close to the ground, like in the trailer - everyone's just gonna fly above everything. And it looks like you could fly from one end of the map to the other in about 10 seconds. That's WAY too small for a game named after the space fighter! Lightbox should look at the recently released SkyDrift for ideas on a)level design in general (putting in some focused, racetrack-like sections would be beneficial), and b)putting bonuses for flying through certain areas to "lead" players through more interesting settings without forcing it on them explicitly. Like how SkyDrift slowly fills your boost meter the closer you actually fly to the ground; thus "incentiving" actually doing it. That title is pretty well designed, especially for a downloadable game.

I'm hopeful that the single-player will save the day, but I'm not getting my hopes up. I am glad that Sony Santa Monica is guiding this too; everything they touch usually has that "world class triple-A" sheen polished to it. Everything from Flower to God of War. I don't know who Sony's got working there, but they might have their own secret Miyamoto employed there, guiding things along:)
  • So far 2012 is lookin like a good year for PS3 owners with titles like this and twisted metal. I'm pretty excited

  • This is why I Play Station (its a pun).

  • this looks like a lot of fun, almost halo like...but better!

  • I like how this game is turning out. Looks like Santa Monica Studio's putting a lot of work into it. Another soon to be great exclusive for SONY. (please don't suck)
  • This kind of makes me want to check out warhawk again...

  • Loved me some Warhawk so this looks to be an easy buy for me - between Starhawk, Twisted Metal, & Aliens: Colonial Marines 2012 is shaping up nicely thus far.

  • I want Homeworld 3 not this crap T_T
