The lights are on
Video games often have an accompanying score CD that features music from the game, but Batman: Arkham City is getting 12 new tracks from a variety of bands. Take a listen to one of them now.
IGN debuted Coheed and Cambria's new song "Deranged" today. After listening to the track, it sounds like it'll appeal to fans of the band with a lot of Coheed's signature harmonies and dark tones. There's even a Joker-esque laugh sprinkled in there somewhere.
What do you think? Any other songs from the album you're looking forward to hearing when it drops on October 4?

Coheed is one of my all time favorite bands. Along with Mastodon, Between the Buried and Me, Thrice, and The Dear Hunter. They play a great show and have some of the most impressive progressive rock that has come out in the past ten years... great track by the way
I liked that Smashing Pumpkins song from that Batman trailer, they should put that in there.
it's probably called pretty little enemy. plus i love coheed and cambria
interesting song, i'll looking forward to seeing what the other artists did.
Excited for Batman: Arkham City? H*ll yeah!! For Coheed and Cambria song? *vomiting violently*
God. What a terrible collection of music.
Coheed kicks some serious ass man, this game is going to be pretty effin' sweet
Lots of buttpain in the comments for some reason.. Don't like the band? Well darn. I guess that sucks for you, doesn't it?
Definitely not something that appeals to my ears, but to each their own.
That's rough, really rough. Dood sounds like a castrato with emphysema
Great game, but bad music. Duality at it's finest I guess or just one good thing and one bad thing. Just my opinion though. I didn't care for this song too.
I'll never forget the first time I put a face to the voice of this group... something along that lines of O___O I definitely have to be in a particular mood to enjoy their stuff.
Haters gonna hate. No matter how the music is, it's still going to be GOTY :)
I love Coheed and Cambria, but.... that song was awful!
Mehish...I like some of Coheed's stuff but...this song doesn't appeal to me in the slightest :/... Then again, I was into this stuff back in what...freshman year of high school? o_o crap, I'm old
Bleh. I'm not feeling it. It doesn't set the mood proper for the type of brooding, dark, atmospheric game that the previous entry was and I think lyrics are part to blame (not specifically what is said, but rather the actual inclusion of them period). IMO, the OST should fit the game in such a way that it fits into specific game scenes perfectly and I have a difficult time seeing that. Kind of like how Metroid sets up various songs for its varying environments, or Bioshock uses old-timey tunes to build its image. These are just two examples of games that are usually noted for their environmental design (be that isolation or 1950s-ness), which Arkham Asylum has been well noted for as well.
Simply put, I feel it loses that feel if something like this were to be present in the game it self (-Cough- See: Prince of Persia: Warrior Within) as it sounds more like something I'd imagine someone putting a COD headshot montage to than a pathos driven moody character like Batman.
YES! COHEED AND BATMAN!
Panic might do this some good thing too..not sure of the other bands though.
Wish U2 and Method Man could get back on this. LMAO
Get some Seal too! Kiss from a Rose on the Grave. xD
I actually like it and I dont understand why some people think it'll play during the game.
