The lights are on
And would you believe this is a Square Enix game? Yes, the company responsible for such names as Kingdom Hearts 358/2 and Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy is back with another head-scratching title.
Bravely Default: Flying Fairy was shown briefly at Nintendo's Tokyo Game Show press conference, and didn't reveal much other than the game will utilize the 3DS' augmented reality features.
The clip showed detailed 3D environments, traditional Final Fantasy-like overworld movement, a woman wearing a dress way to short for her, beautifully animated bosses, boat travel, and little else other than that it's slated for a 2012 release.

one of the best things they've come up with lately from the looks of it (imo) watched the live stream
Well weird name but it doesn't matter if it's a good game. I'm hopeful but with the way square enix has been lately... anyway big hopes for more great jrpgs on 3DS after such a gold mine on DS
Wearing a dress way too short is a great American pastime, I didn't know it was popular in Japan too. Silly Name I hope its a cool game that comes stateside.
Square Enix is just barely making it these days. If it weren't for all the KH/FF fans and some Deus Ex fans they would be screwed just like the rest of the Japanese gaming industry...or at least most of the industry some products/series are still lasting this far just aren't doing that well outside Japan.
Wow the art looks great, looks like it's by the artist who did tactics ogre and war of the lions, love his art style, very storybook-ish, but yeah, weird name hahaha, had me scratching my head for a moment there before reading the actual article.
Very strange name, but we'll see how good it is when it comes out, (please don't be weird! Oh who am I kidding, this game is going to be weird!).
Wow what a lucky duck!
hey who said that dress is to short. if she wants it like that than good for her ;3. woo woo
What kind of name is that???
(Rhetorical question, I know it's just a Square Enix title)
As long as it has a woman wearing a short dress, people will play it.

Ugh I hate gimmicks...
