The lights are on
When I saw Skyward Sword for October's Game Informer cover story, Nintendo strongly hinted to me that this would be the biggest Zelda game ever. Today at the publisher's pre-Tokyo Game Show press conference, they revealed just how big they're thinking.
During the conference, legendary Nintendo designer Shigeru Miyamoto talked about the upcoming Zelda title while a montage of gameplay clips played. Miyamoto revealed that a team of 100 developers at Nintendo have been working on this game for over five years. The grand sum of all that work? Miyamoto estimates that the final game will last players between 50 and 100 hours.
The footage showed off some rather crazy looking boss battles against huge creatures, giving off a Shadow of the Colossus vibe. Miyamoto revealed that upon completion of the 50-100 hour quest, players will be able to relive those confrontations in a boss rush mode.
Nintendo showed off a new trailer during the press conference, and we'll post that here as soon as it's available to us.

I haven't seen anything about this game that says it will be anything but epic. It's getting harder and harder to wait
Oh wow thats a lot but not as much time I invested in Persona 3 lol, from what their saying 50 to 100 hours might take me a while especially since im back in school now >.>
Knowing Miyamoto and how long it takes me to beat his games first time around that may be like a 250+ hour game for me haha.
All of my life i have been wanting a game like this, excitement beyond belief
100 hours of Zelda bliss here I come!!!!!
Holy crap!!! This and Elder Scrolls is going to consume the remainder of my year.
This game is going to be epic, especially when you throw a soundtrack in where you can listen to things other than OoT music on the go, and a gold wii remote.
50 to 100 hrs long...hmmmmm ill do it in 20! all jokes aside thats a pretty long game. and for that i thank you
That's quite the range there.
