Smash Bros. Headed To Wii U And 3DS

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata announced during the company's press conference this morning that Smash Bros. is in development for both Wii U and 3DS.

Iwata said both versions will "work together in some ways." While no other information was given on the new title, this is great news for fans of the series. Might be time for another Guinness record attempt.

Considering that Smash Bros Brawl is the only game I play on the Wii and I'd have to buy a whole new single use system to play the sequel, I'm predicting that the next installation of the game will probably be out of my price range. I'll pass.

Since they are claiming to be trying to get third-parties interested in them I hope they add a few more third-pary characters this time like: Rayman,Megaman,Ezio,Lara Croft,Big Daddy, Death(from Darksiders 2), Cloud, Sora etc... one can dream

I'm sure the "work together" aspect will be linking the 3DS to the Wii U for stat transfer or something. I'm not too excited for this. After all of the Smash games that have been released, my and my buddies still find ourselve going back to the N64 when we want some good ol' Smash time. The two sequels may be solid games, but after the charm of the first it's hard to compete. Don't get me wrong, I love all the Smash games, but what more can they do other than add more characters? Any more additions would ruin what a real Smash game is.
