The lights are on
A blog post by Amnesia: The Dark Descent creators Frictional Games teased the team's early thoughts on their next project. Frictional's next game, currently in development at the company's Swedish studio, is going to be less of an overt horror title. The as-yet-unnamed game is intended to be an exploration of "intellectually demanding subjects," which engages players mentally but doesn't rely on the classic adventure game puzzle design that can "disrupt the flow."I personally can't wait to get a look at whatever Frictional produces next. Amnesia is one of my favorite games from the last few years, and I'm ecstatic that such a talented team came up big with what they thought was going to be their last game as a studio. Amnesia's success – almost 400,000 units sold – means that the developers can take bigger chances and eat things besides ramen and white rice this time around, and I'm hopeful for something special to be born as a result.

Amnesia was fantastic. I can't wait to see what they do next.
I love Amnesia and Penumbra. Can't wait to see what they come up with next.
The terrifying horror of Amnesia was one thing that I love about this game. I hope that's not tossed too far away. I'm already excited for whatever they release.
Most terrifying game I've ever played.
I'm very happy to hear about a new game from them. Their new direction sounds also pretty promising.
Amnesia was a great game ! I can't wait for the next game ;)
basically theyre telling stupid people to run. Just like their last game. lulz
I never played the game, since I'm actually terrified by horror games or movies :C (I know that's the purpose but while some love that, I don't :P),but from what I read and videos I saw it looks pretty good.
About the announcement itself I'm excited actually :)
I love their games, they masterful at creating scary atmosphere. Looking forward to it.
Looks good
Amnesia was such a breath of (spine-tingling) fresh air. I mirror your sentiments Adam, cheers to Frictional getting some financial backing for bigger things.
Frictional Games is one of my favorite indie developers, mainly because they make extremely interesting horror games. I'd like to see more H.P. Lovecraft style horror from these guys. I always like intellectually stimulating/demanding games. It keeps our brains strong and healthy.
HEY! I do some of my best work when I'm eating ramen noodles. :P
I'm curious about this next title as well. The Amnesia demo freaked me out a bit, and I'm not sure how good I'd be at the full game. But I'm happy they found success.
Yay!!!
I have only heard good things about amnesia and I would really like to check it out, but I am still glad to hear a small developer gets to keep making good games!
