Final Fantasy XIII-2's Noel Has A Bizarre Secret
If you've seen any screens or trailers of Final Fantasy XIII-2, you know that the guy hanging out with Serah is named Noel, and that he is one of the main characters in the upcoming sequel. But there's something you didn't know about him…though it might be a little spoilery. Continue reading at your own risk.
Basically, Noel's from the future. He's a time-traveller, and the lone survivor from some apocalyptic period yet-to-be. The info comes courtesy of the latest issue of Japanese publication Jump (via Andriasang), and also goes on to explain a little more about Lightning's current state. Apparently, she's a knight guarding the temple of the goddess Etro in Valhalla. How she got there (and what has happened to her since the end of FF XIII) will probably be revealed throughout the course of the game.
The Lightning stuff sounds intriguing, but my hopes for Final Fantasy XIII-2's story just got a little dimmer regardless. Any time you throw time travel into a plot, things are bound to get muddy. Unless you're Back to the Future, of course.
