Microsoft Unveils Gears Of War 3 Season Pass

Gears of War 3 drops Sept. 20, but Microsoft and Epic Games want you to think even further ahead. The game will have a variety of post-release DLC, and players who purchase the game's newly announced Season Pass will get access to the first four add-ons as well as an exclusive Liquid Metal weapons set.

The Season Pass will set you back 2,400 Microsoft, or about $30, saving players who buy it 33 percent over the cost of buying each DLC pack individually. The pass will be available the day the game launches. There's no word on what the upcoming DLC will include, but Microsoft says the first pack will go live this November.

What do you think? Do you plan on buying the content sight unseen anyway, or would you rather wait to see what you're buying before you commit to this kind of package deal?

Not sure how I really feel about this. I'm already forfiting the money for the Epic Edition, as are alot of other people. Why not just include it with the pre-sale copies? I love Gears, so I'll probably end up getting it...

I'll be getting the Season Pass. I'm the kind of guy who's shelled out for every special edition of Gears so far, simply because I like having all the exclusive weapons and such. I'll be buying the DLC anyway, so if I can save money on it why not? Plus getting an exclusive weapon set is pretty sweet.

Gears is probably my favorite active series but I wouldn't drop the money for this unless they release more details about what you're buying. I've never been big on the competitive multiplayer in Gears so if it's just map packs for that, I probably won't buy it anyway. If it's new features and maps for Horde/Beast mode or additional single player content, then they've got my attention.

Should've just been an online pass like thing that came with the game.I'd love to have it,but I'll have to spend $40 just to get this one pass.I also don't have a credit card so I cannot get the exact amount on my account.Don't agree with it at all.I love Gears,but not enough to have to drop the money to get other games for a simple pass

This needs to be added to the Epic Edition unit , this make it a bit more worth the purchase aside from the statue.

Only helps solidify that I won't be getting any of this DLC. I will wait until this drops below $40 before I even consider buying this game.

honestly don't think it would be worth it for this game, bethesda and bioware have been the only ones to release games that I felt my money was well spent on the DLC.
