The lights are on
[Update]: Warner Bros. has clarified a mistake in its earlier information about the Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection, which offers a trio of Mortal Kombat classics in their original arcade states.
The company has just sent out a press release clarifying that the PSN version of the game comes out first on August 30, and will then be available on the 31st for Xbox Live and PC.
[Original Story]: Warner Bros. has officially dated the Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection for PSN, PC, and Xbox Live Arcade, and it offers Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat 2, and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 in their arcade states.
The Kollection hits on August 31 for the price of $9.99 or 800 Microsoft Points. It's developed by Other Ocean in conjunction with NetherRealm Studios, and the games feature online play, leaderboards, achievements/trophies, and more.
Although these are being billed as arcade-perfect renditions, do you think they'll be able to faithfully replicate the experience on your favorite current-gen platform?

I'll never forget the first time I saw an MK1 arcade unit lol, good times. I'd like to get this to have it but I doubt Ill play it, I don't have the time to memorize all the moves in the new game let alone all of the old games haha.
Spent enough time on them back in the day though thats for sure.
Awesome, I have been waiting for a release date!
Can't wait! :).
It will be fun for people to complain online when they get caught with the cage uppercuts on MK 1 lol.
I love MK arcade
well, the layout of the snes was almost the same as the controllers now adays except for trigger buttons, but, yeah. i think itll do an prob ok job as to the experience of playing on oldie.
Sweeeeet.
Is the title of this article a pun? Sure seems that way. I enjoy breaking out an emulator for about 15 minutes of old school fun at a time but any amount more and I usually get bored pretty fast
Unless they retool the fighting completely I don't think they'll match up to the current game. I still remember being able to trap opponents, or getting trapped by someone who just spammed the punch buttons.
