The lights are on
The poorly received Kinect exclusive Fable: The Journey may not be the only Albion-based fantasy game Peter Molyneux's Lionhead Studios is conjuring up in its England headquarters.
Many fans were turned off by the E3 debut of the on-rails looking Fable spin-off The Journey – even series creator Peter Molyneux seemed underwhelmed when presenting the game for the first time on stage. Perhaps his enthusiasm is reserved for another project. In the latest issue of OXM, the publication speculates that Lionhead is also chipping away at a proper Fable sequel, due out in 2013.
The rumor should come as no surprise considering Microsoft's dwindling collection of reliable first-party franchises. Once you get past Halo, Gears of War, Forza, and Fable, there isn't much left outside of the strong Xbox Live Arcade exclusives.
Previous entries in the Fable series have advanced the history of Albion from the dark ages to the industrial revolution. Where do you think the next fantasy action role-playing game will take us?

Lionhead removed a lot of elements from Fable 3 that didn't need removing, so Fable IV better have them.....who am I kidding, I'll buy it anyway!
I think Fable IV will probably be set in an era where Will has fully returned to Albion.
I personally would love an HD remake of the original Fable
The series is by no means "bad"... but it has become less entertaining to me with each iteration. Some games are too quick to abandon what works and lose focus... while others fail to recognize myriad problems inherent with core design philosophies... case in point.
World War 1
Just so long as the Road to Rule concept doesn't come back.
just make anew freaking game fables getting lamer and lamer
Yay! Fable: sims edition 2! Coming to a game store near you!
Unfortunately I was disappointed with 2, tried 3 and was even disappointed even more. It's a shame because he could be doing so much more with what he has. Oh well. I'll check reviews on 4 before I give 'em my dollars
Unless it's a remake of fable 1 I don't want it.
I'd want them to step back from clothy, Gun era, to Medieval/Fantasy style more so...
like I said before...Viking Era. :) Eric the Red, Norse items/settings, raiding, pillaging, Clan vs Clan, Or CONAN STYLE!
I think they should go completely different and make it less light hearted, return magic as a major skill and not shunned.. Make exploring places more fun. If they keep to the stupid industrial revolution idea then I pray that they just make a prequel and be done with it.
i hope it's as good as F2
