The lights are on
Finally succumbing to Xbox 360-owning Silent Hill fans' rage, Konami announced at its press conference that the Silent Hill HD collection will no longer be a PlayStation 3 exclusive.
This fall, the HD bundle of Silent Hill 2 and 3 will release on 360 day and date with the PS3 version. As stated before, the collection will feature all new voice work. Konami gave a sample of a few lines during the presser and it was less than impressive. I'm sure, however, that if I heard the original dialogue today it might not sound all that great either.

excellent news, can't wait for this now
im in the middle of SH2 myself
Great not they're remaking the games that scared the hell out of me when I was a kid. Although it's kind of funny because nowadays if you look back on the originals the graphics are quite funny, you know to sort of combat/distract you from remembering the scary parts :D
it dosnt have to be a PS3 exclusive for me to get on the PS3 even tho i have both systems
wow sounds really cool ^^
I used to watch my older brother play SH all the time so it'll be fun to get a try at it myself this time
It would be much better if they included Shattered Memories and Silent Hill 4 in it. Who cares about new voiceover, the old one works good enough.
I'm really looking forward to all these HD remakes and re-releases. Silent Hill, Halo, Resident Evil, and Metal Gear are all superb games. It'll be great to revisit them, though it'll be difficult to find time for them with the massive line up of new titles coming this year.
And it may seem silly, but I'm can't wait to see what kind of achievements these games will have (if they do.)
I don't understand why they redid the voice work unless they didn't want to pay any more royalties to the original actors and actresses. I thought the original voices fit the characters very well--shame that Konami didn't keep them. Of course, Konami also didn't allow for inversion of the y-axis on "Silent Hill: Homecoming", which made the game completely unplayable for me. Here's hoping that they understand that: 1) many gamers are used to the y-axis being inverted and have difficulty with the "standard" setting; and 2) it's a simple coding fix that costs virtually nothing to include.
