The lights are on
Today at QuakeCon, Todd Howard announced a collector's edition for the highly anticipated The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
Hardy adventurers can look forward to the following:
All these wonderful treasures can be yours for $149.99, when Skyrim releases on November 11. In the meantime, check out our Skyrim hub, which contains exclusive content from our cover story trip to Bethesda.

I see a lot of people upset there's no extra DLC, but who needs DLC when every time you start a new character it's practically guaranteed that your experience is going to be different?
Speaking of DLC I hope that when they do release DLC, selects a random part of the world for you to go to on each new game so it's not always in the exact same place. With their system I've been hearing about that seems quite feasible.
While the stature looks cool and well done, I'd expect alot more for that price. If the making-of dvd is like the Lord of the Rings Appendices, then itm ight justify it. Still though, there should be more.
$150 for a map, a statue and a art book? In which the map is included anyways with the the pre-order!? I'am not exactly sure why it cost so much unless they have not revealed everything in the package. Why is it other Collectors edition like batman have statue art work D.L.C and other goodies for $120. Not only i can get 2 games for what they want and have 30 dollars left!!! I've been scanning the headlines for the Collectors edition for this game with the intent of buying it and now with this news Iam very displeased, shame on u bethesda for trying to exploit not only ur fan base but those who who want to enter the series and decide to get the C.E.
yay! i knew it would be worth waiting to preorder so i could snag the awesome Skyrim bundle :D
lol natalia drovarol is still alive? wtf she's immortal
WANT. Cannot afford. :(
i was waiting for this announcment but $150 for 5 things a little overkill if you ask me
Thats a little price IMO for all that.
This is must buy for me
Wow, that's gonna be super nice!
I can't stop saying holy *** XD!!!!!! This will be the first game I ever pre-order AND get collector's edition... Probably the only...
'til an Elder Scrolls 6, that is.
Man that's a lot of cash. But I always buy the collector's editions for Bethesda games, especially if it's an Elder Scrolls game. So, I'm preordering right now I guess
Ugh -_- why Bethesda. Why.
Why must I choose between u and 2 1/2 games? Hey, I'm not saying it's not worth it (yes I am) but come on. Dragons are cool and all, and I like nothing more than a good art book, (<--thats a lie, but as an artist, artbooks are *** cool IMO) but I have to give up another game and a half for THAT? I think I would rather have Resistance 3 or Uncharted 3 than a statue that will honestly just collect dust (as another commenter pointed out).
So this is my proposition Bethesda (because I KNOW that Bethesda is gonna go on GI.com, read this article, and check out my comment -_- lol), I will buy your collector edition for no more than $120. Or, even cooler, $111.10.
Btw, I am being completely honest about this. The main reason I want Skyrim is because it comes out on my birthday, 11-11. And since I am between jobs, and my friends are too cheap to get me presents, this is probly gonna be the coolest thing that happens on my coolest birthday ever :P
The verdict is in: This is too much *** cash to spend on one game. I'll buy the regular game and spend the other $90 on MW3 and maybe a Skyrim guidebook.
To be honest, I'm a little disappointed. I thought that it'd be around $100, which I would be willing to fork over.
I'd love to see a Dragon jewel like the one of the game's logo, that would be wearable around the neck. It would be awesome and relatively cheap.
I guess I have to make a custom order on a smith.
Sick! Though 150 bucks is a bit...pricey.
I mean I will buy it if it becomes available but I think I'd have to sell a few games in the process =/
