Call Of Duty XP Convention Activities Revealed

by Adam Biessener on Aug 03, 2011 at 11:11 AM

For $150, you can do paintball battle across a replica of Modern Warfare 2's Scrapyard level, run MW 2's The Pit qualification course, and order up at MW 2's Burgertown fast food restaurant. If your in-game skills are better than your real life abilities (and let's all be honest with ourselves here), you can compete for $1 million in prizes in a Modern Warfare 3 tournament at the Call of Duty XP instead.

Held in Los Angeles over Labor Day weekend, the Call of Duty XP is the first fan convention for Activision's massively popular first-person shooter. All attendees will receive a voucher for a free copy of the MW 3 Hardened Edition as well, so the cost of the ticket doesn't look so bad after all – especially when you consider that Activision is donating all proceeds to the non-profit Call of Duty Endowment, which helps soldiers return to civilian life after being deployed.

Fans who aren't going will be able to follow the tournament and more of the CoD XP's action over Xbox Live, YouTube, and "other broadcast outlets."

The one thing you won't be able to do at this huge event? Hear from the founders of the studio that created the franchise. Sick burn. Though I suppose I could have gone with "stuff a dude's mouth with broken glass and punch him in the face" or "shoot Nazi zombies alongside Richard Nixon."
