West Side Story Meets Dance Dance Revolution In This Real Movie Trailer

by Phil Kollar on Aug 01, 2011 at 03:00 PM

Have you ever thought that the already-kind-of-weird musical gang fighting of West Side Story would be improved by a little bit more video game dancing? Me neither, but clearly someone did.

The FP is a movie in which two gangs fight for control of a place called Fraizer Park. Their choice of weapon? A game known as Beat-Beat Revelation that's going to look very familiar to any gamers who were doing the video game dancing thing prior to Kinect coming out.

The trailer below is not technically new, though I will caution that it is VERY NOT SAFE FOR WORK nor for underage viewers. However, it is the first I've heard of this bizarre little movie. Ain't It Cool News has word that the film has been picked up for distribution by Drafthouse Films, a company I'm actually a fan of. Perhaps the absurdity of the concept actually pays off in an interesting and entertaining film? Watch the trailer and judge for yourself.
