While it's far from a sure thing, a flyer supposedly leaked from Blockbuster pinpoints the release of Sony's new handheld – in the UK, at least.

According to the advertisement pictured below (courtesy of IGN), the hardware is set to launch on Friday, October 28 in the UK. That's only three month away, but it would ensure that Sony hits the target release for this holiday season along with giving people plenty of time to buy games before the year ends.

Given the lack of confirmation from Sony (and abundant speculation on the device's release date), I'm going to wait for an official announcement before I believe anything regarding when the Vita will be available.

Release dates are subject to change all the time anyways. While this rumor is more substantial since a business like Blockbuster is involved, the endgame will be Sony's confirmation, as you say.

Still a little early. Seriously I was hoping it would release late November or early December so I could just ask for it for Christmas, and not have to wait while everyone else with money is playing it.

Just release it already. The people who can afford it have already made up their minds and those who don't have the money can add it their Xmas list if it comes out this year. Those on the fence and are waiting for proven games are most likely gonna wait a year and then decide if the system is for them.

Just release the stupid thing.

We're starting to see many concurrent reports on the release of the Vita, and I have to say "Why?" I mean, there are literally TOO MANY games coming out this year, and to believe that gamers will have any residual money after the tsunami of titles hits this year for the PSVita is ludicrous. For God's sakes, Sony, just wait until early next year for the launch. It'll be better for you, and better for Sony fans.
