One of the most important parts of the upcoming QuakeCon convention in Dallas, Texas, is the massive LAN party that happens every year. This year that party will be powered by Internet access provided by AT&T.

AT&T and Bethesda announced the partnership today, revealing that AT&T will provide more than five times the amount of bandwidth that previous QuakeCon LAN events had access to. AT&T director of sponsorships Greg Skasko spoke about the deal:

"AT&T is thrilled to be a part of this year’s BYOC [Bring Your Own Computer] and we’re proud to connect these avid gamers to each other through our greatest asset – our network. By wiring the event with our reliable, U-verse High Speed Internet, we’re ensuring that the focus of the party stays on having fun with those who share the same passion for gaming."

QuakeCon begins next Thursday, August 4, and runs through Saturday, August 6.
