Capcom's Financial Woes
Although Capcom says that Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition and Resident Evil: The Mercenaries sold to the company's expectations, Capcom has reported a drop in income and profit as compared to last year.
The company says that for the last fiscal quarter, income was down 37.2 percent (11,952 million yen/$154 million) and profits were down 23 percent (775 million yen/$9.97 million) due to a lack of new games coming out.
Capcom shipped out Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, Resident Evil: The Mercenaries, and Monster Hunter Portable 3 (for PSP), and the result was an almost 57 percent sales decline since last year.
Still, there was some good news: Capcom's mobile division saw an almost 80 percent rise in sales.
