Indie Adventure Machinarium Coming To iPad

by Joe Juba on Jul 26, 2011 at 09:43 AM

Fans of pointing and clicking should be happy to hear that the adventure game Machinarium is on its way to iPad. Created by the team at Amanita Design, Machinarium originally released on home computers in 2009. It's a clever and visually striking title with the classic adventure game vibe, complete with challenging puzzles.

A PS3 version is on the way this fall, but according an interview with Pocket Gamer, Amanita Design founder Jakub Dvorský says that an iPad version is confirmed and imminent. "It's almost finished, but we still need to fix a lot of small bugs and test it properly," he says. "It should be ready during the next month...hopefully."

That's great news, since the platform is an excellent fit for Machinarium. If you're an adventure game fan and you still haven't played this gem, I highly recommend you check it out any way you can. I had a blast with it last year when I picked it up during the Pirate Amnesty sale. Don't worry, I wasn't one of the pirates...I had just forgotten about the game, which is a more forgivable offense.
