Game Informer Editors To Attempt Six Guinness Records

by Dan Ryckert on Jul 26, 2011 at 01:59 PM

Last March, four GI editors teamed up and broke the Guinness World Record for Longest Video Games Marathon Playing A Fighting Game. Since then, a group of gamers topped our time by two hours at E3. Over the weekend of August 6-7, GI is attempting to reclaim their spot in the record books, but with six new records.

We're not gunning for the fighting game record this time (at least not yet). Instead, we'll be setting six individual records, which should be an interesting change of pace. They'll all be marathon records, and they'll all last at least 24 hours. It'll be fun to see which of us six drops first, and which lasts the longest. The participants are myself (Dan Ryckert), Tim Turi, Jeff Cork, Ben Reeves, Phil Kollar, and Bryan Vore.

Stay tuned to the site next week, as we'll each be choosing our record of choice, and detailing why we picked it. The attempt begins at 9am CST on Saturday, August 6th, and the event will be live-streamed here on the site. It should be a fun ride.
