The lights are on
[Update]: Electronic Arts and BioWare have confirmed details regarding Star Wars: The Old Republic's three different game editions, as well as a limited supply of pre-orders which allow you to play the game early.
The game comes in three flavors:
Standard Edition ($59.99) (physical copies can be pre-ordered at regular stores, but the digital pre-order is an Origin exclusive)
Digital Deluxe Edition ($79.99) (digital-only version available exclusively via Origin)
Limited Collector's Edition ($149.99) (only available in physical form)
For more info on the different versions, pre-order bonuses, and how to redeem your pre-order code (doing so queues you up for the game's early access period and they are limited, so don't delay!), check out BioWare's website.
No official release dates for the game or the early access period have been announced.

[Original Story]: A rumor has popped up that publisher EA will soon start taking pre-orders for Star Wars: The Old Republic over its Origin download service, as well as details regarding the game's Collector's Edition.
Kotaku says that a few European online retailers have posted info on the the game's Collector's Edition (listed below), but these listings have since been taken down. The price is apparently $175 for the limited edition. A source says that EA will take pre-orders starting on Thursday, July 21, for both the regular and Collector's editions, with an overall cap of 500,000 pre-orders, although only the first 50,000 will be guaranteed (the rest go on a waiting list).
Given the tight timeline listed by the rumor, we should know pretty quickly if it's legit.
Despite these rumblings, the game still does not have an official release date.

I´m Working in a Printing Company and we printed these covers 3-4 days ago for the german market...LOL
I got all excited cause I thought it was KOTOR: Collected Edition. Haha I thought someone was going to bundle the original xbox games in HD. Now that I would buy.
Not worth $175. The STAP would be hilarious. They are like the Segways of Star Wars, but with lasers.
$175, This isnt expensive compared to the Lord of the Rings edition, It cost almost $1000 just to get three movies with some extra special features CD's. I think they should raise the price because their being far to fair and selling a Star Wars collecters edition is like selling the Lord of the rings edition because star wars is way more popular than Lord of the rings so come on guys this isnt expensive.
eh, as i read down for the comments... it should cost more.. because paying $175 for the lot.. doesn't seem like your getting the whole bulk of what you paid for.. =| just sounds like your paying for only about 1/4 of the pack... but its not me to decide on that.. and the people that have pre-ordered, will know whats baring to come... as for it is my opinion/comment
Cool I wish I could play this game it look awesome :)
I'm juggling between this or TERA. I don't have a clear decision on which one to choose, but this is getting down to the wire.
The Flare gun: Fires flares into the air.
Captain Obvious: Captain of the Obvious.
$175!?! you've got to be kidding.
release date announcement seems very likely at comic con if this is true.
I wish I could buy the digital goodies without the RL garbage. I have no room in my life for a figurine.
If I knew for 100% sure that it was a great game, I'd get it anyway. The problem is, I don't. It's got glowing reviews, but with an MMO you never know if it's good until you get in the driver's seat and actually experience the world. Rift for instance got great reviews, but I got bored after about five hours and quit. That's why I'm glad I waited for the free demo. I probably won't wait for the free demo for ToR, but I probably won't buy the uber edition either. Not at that price.
I really wish I was into PC gaming so I could play this. Playing games just seems wrong with out a controller.
Digital Deluxe on lockdown.
It's crazy how fast these pre-orders are selling. The Collector's Edition is sold out and the Editions with early game-access are being serviced by request.
Now I get to wait for Bioware to get off their happy-asses and announce something. Quit waiting for Blizzcon and sack up. Blizzard is predictable, they're going to pull something out of their sleeve no matter when/how you announce the date.
