[Original Story]: A rumor has popped up that publisher EA will soon start taking pre-orders for Star Wars: The Old Republic over its Origin download service, as well as details regarding the game's Collector's Edition.

Kotaku says that a few European online retailers have posted info on the the game's Collector's Edition (listed below), but these listings have since been taken down. The price is apparently $175 for the limited edition. A source says that EA will take pre-orders starting on Thursday, July 21, for both the regular and Collector's editions, with an overall cap of 500,000 pre-orders, although only the first 50,000 will be guaranteed (the rest go on a waiting list).

Given the tight timeline listed by the rumor, we should know pretty quickly if it's legit.

Despite these rumblings, the game still does not have an official release date.
