NCSoft Teases New Storylines For City Of Heroes Freedom

We've known about the upcoming shift to free-to-play for City of Heroes for a while now, but what other changes are in store for the superhero MMO? Good question.

NCSoft sent me the teaser image above earlier today as a preparation for showing off City of Heroes Freedom at San Diego Comic-Con. Though the publisher didn't provide any further concrete details as to what we can expect, the image suggests that the free-to-play version of CoH will have a new focus on comic-book style storylines, beginning with the death of one of the game's major heroes.

I'll be checking out City of Heroes Freedom at Comic-Con later this week, so check back for more updates!

  • I wanted to try City of Heroes when it First came out, but, I've just never had a gaming PC. Still interesting to see that it is still going strong. Also, this is a super late post Phil.
  • I love city of heroes.

  • That helmet design is really over-used. Magneto, Boba-Fett (kinda), Vile (Megaman X), and there was another I was thinking but I cannot recall.
  • What's the difference between the paid and free versions?

  • I'll make a call now that the next story line is the character's resurrection. That is if they are gonna start doing "comic-like" storylines.

  • i have the original City of Villains but havent played in over 3 years. can i still play this with that disk?
