Loved the first one, I hope they eventually get to make the second one.

I never played Split/Second, opting to go for Blur at the time. But from what I hear from my friends, it was a pretty awesome game that deserved more recognition and a greater audience appeal. Here's to hoping Roundcube can bag the rights and come out with a Split/Second 2 ~

I personally hope the new studio can make something very similar to split second as I loved the grand scale of some of the advanced powerplay's e.g. that moment when you saw the spaceneedle wreck half of your competiton

I loved Split Second and still go back and play it from time to time and have to say that the technician aspect has me a little suspect.

I hope someone at GI will see this, you should totally do a super replay of Majoras Mask. I have always wanted to beat this game, but never have.

Split/Second and Blur were awesome games. Although I preferred Blur most! And Pure was also good as well!

if these are true, then this is just one big c*ck tease. split/second was great. it reminded sorta of burnout which is my favorite overall racing series

Unfortunately it looks like racing games are going the way of music games with people getting bored due to a small amount of room left to innovate in the genre. Not to mention it has the entry level of the FPS genre meaning you have to kill it to stand out.

*sigh* The first game was all kinds of awesome. Between that and Blur, it almost seemed like arcade-y combat racing was gonna make a comeback. Guess not.

Somebody needs to pick it up! The first one was awesome and more challenging than most racing games I've played. Plus, who doesn't like the ability to create new routes, shortcuts and the ability to trigger events to cause your competitions to eat it hard. I still see Split/Second in most stores for about $30. So if you wanna pick it up if you haven't played the game, it wouldn't be too hard to find. (i.e. GameStop, Target, BestBuy)

We can only hope someone will resurrect the franchise, and with more vigor than was given to Duke Nukem.

This sucks. It just makes the cancelation and eventually closing of Black Rock suck all the more. Disney were morons to back away from being a serious game publisher. And even if they were intent on backing away from S/S2, they could've at least made them make a cart racer or the Cars 2 game or something to inject some capital into the studio and keep them around. Effin sad when publishers mismanage and close down talented studios. THIS IS WHY PEOPLE ARE PISSED AT YOU POPCAP FOR SELLING YOURSELVES TO EA!

Split/Second was one of the few Racing Games I actually enjoyed.
