Codemasters' Grid Returns To The Track For Charity

Codemasters and Steam are teaming up to offer the publisher/developer's classic racing title Grid at a nice price, with all profits going towards charity.

Today through 4 pm (pacific) on Thursday the PC version of Grid will be on sale on Steam for only $4.99. The profits of the sale will go to charities like GamesAid – an organization that works with industry partners for children's charities.

Grid is a great game, and we've been anxiously waiting for Codemasters to give us a sequel for years. This is a great price for the title, even if the PC and PS3 versions' online services have just been discontinued (but not so for the 360...yet).

Check out the game on Steam here.

  • Any news about F1 2011?????
  • Sounds good, I might try it out.

  • Thanks for the heads up. For 5$ going straight to charity, of course I'll bite.

  • I was wanting to get this game for a while.  I'm more than happy to pitch in my 5 dollars for charity.

  • Good stuff.

Never got around to picking this up, great price, great causes, I'm in.

  • I was going to say, didn't the online servers for GRID get shut down

  • YAY

  • I totally got hooked on Steam a few weeks back when they had the Summer Camp sale *Thank you GI for announcing THAT little gem*. I think I may have just moved from 360 to PC since then. I didn't pay more than $5 for any game I bought. Xbox Live is slim pickings for AAA titles for than cheap. Heck I got koToR for 2.49! Steam you have won me over, in fact I am now awaiting a brand new GTX 560ti. I may pick up Grid now that my comp will be capable of running it.
  • Anything for GamesAid or Child's Play.  Keep the industry strong.

  • i will do anything for children that need help

  • Is there no controller support for the PC version?

I have a generic Logitech dual analog and I can't seem to find a way to enable traditional controller support. Trying to play a racing game with a keyboard is like trying to screw a tree. Not only is it pointless and painful, but you look like a friggin moron doing it.
