Summer Uprising Indie Game Lineup Announced

If the upcoming Summer of Arcade promotion doesn't have enough cool downloadable games for you, then dig into the games of the Summer Uprising.

Late last year, the folks working on games for the Xbox Live Indie scene got together and developed a promotion called the Winter Uprising. The plan must have worked out pretty well, because a similar event is on the way in late August called the Indie Game Summer Uprising.

The project aims to highlight some of the awesome work being completed by independent game developers on Xbox 360. While the event (and the trailer at the bottom of this story) highlight a number of different games being released, the developers have voted on eight games to be highlighted as part of the Uprising. Two more games will be voted on by the community and announced later.

We've included trailers for all eight of the games that were voted on by the developers, which are all planned for release between August 22 and September 2. Scroll all the way down for a more general trailer of the Summer Uprising promotion.

Lol, as I'm watching the TEC3001 trailer I'm thinking to myself "Well that's cool. Sure it's just one of the many many "run quickly through obstacles" arcade titles out there, but at least it's not another 2D side-scroller. One video down, start playing Speed Runner HD *facepalm* To it's credit, it looks like a very solid offering.

I'm sorry but i liked most of these games take arms and raventhorne being my favorites but after I saw the first 30 sec. Of the trailer to tec 3001 I laughed because it seemed to try way to hard to be a generic action movie

Those were some pretty sweet games. Interesting how Indie games on XBL have grown. Never thought it would grow to have a actual summer line up. I'll probably get my hands on a few of these.

The speed runner game reminds me of N+ alot. Which i did have a lot of fun playing. It seems like fun.
