Game Dev Story 2 To Have Leaderboards, Shared Employees

by Tim Turi on Jul 13, 2011 at 08:03 AM

The sequel to Kairosoft’s super fun, super addictive game development sim, Game Dev Story, is reported to include leaderboards and employees that you share with your friends.

However, if players are competing to climb to the top of the leaderboards, we’re not sure why you’d want to share your best workers with your friends. Maybe you can recommend a crappy employee to throw a wrench in your competition? Check out the PC screens below to get a sneak peek.

As of right now the sequel is only on PC, but Kairosoft says it’ll eventually release the game worldwide for iOS. Kairosoft also says older, previously Japanese-only games will be translated as well, such as Dungeon Adventure Story, Astro Expedition, and Seafood! Street Sushi.

Though I didn’t love Hot Springs Story, I poured over a dozen hours into Game Dev Story. The prospect of doing it all over again with some new features is very enticing. Anyone looking to get a Kairosoft fix in the meantime should check out Pocket Academy, a school-developing sim for iOS.
