EA Dropping Server Support For Several Older Games

To lessen the stress on its network and clear new space for the fall lineup of games, EA is taking the multiplayer support for several older games offline.

Not a lot of surprises on the lists below – I can't say I've been invited to play any of these titles for quite some time. Here are the dates you can kiss your online support goodbye:

August 11, 2011 Online Service Shutdown

Army of Two (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360)
Army of Two Demo (Xbox 360)
Battlefield 2142 Demo (PC)
Battlefield 2: Modern Combat (Xbox 360)
Battlefield 2: Modern Combat Demo (Xbox 360)
Medal of Honor Airborne (PSP)
Medal of Honor Heroes 2 (PSP, Wii)
NASCAR 09 (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360)
NCAA Basketball 10 (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360)
NCAA Football 10 (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360)
Need for Speed Most Wanted (PC, Xbox 360)
Need for Speed Undercover (PSP)
Skate (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360)

I never played any of these games, but still, its a sad, sad thing when a game is forgotten like this. also, nice way to put it matt, "If you still play these games, it's time to get in your last few rounds of multiplayer before they retire to the dustbin of history," thats a tearjerker

Man Ijust picked up Modern Combat! There's usually two or three servers full later in the day(around 4.00+). If anybody still has the game and would like help with some achievements(or has it and would help me with achievements;p) message me.

Only fair. All of these titles have been largely migrated away from, considering there have been new (generally better in ever way) releases to each franchise.

Makes me wonder if they will shut down the new online pass servers, in the same amount of time?

Kinda makes sense. It's odd, I think that some of those are repeat names. I could have sworn that they said they'd be shutting out the Battlefield 2: Modern Combat servers almost a year ago.
