The lights are on
Electronic Arts recently posted a list of digital retailers that would be carrying Battlefield 3, but the link now directs to an error page. Before it was taken down, Joystiq reports that Steam was absent from the list.
EA's Origin service was the first mentioned, but others such as Direct2Drive and GamersGate were also included. Whether or not Battlefield 3 will be coming to Valve's service is up in the air, but we expect EA to comment on the situation soon.

They should go with Steam! It's a friendly service.
I thought we already covered this, they wanted to be able to communicate more directly with customers or something strange like that, and since they couldn't they weren't putting some of their bigger franchises on it
No surprise here, they'll be doing whatever they can to promote their Origin service, even if that means eliminating the place where they sell it.
Steam is way better than Origin
EA wants to be steam. Good luck? That's what we say while we are all thinking nasty thoughts at them.
Strange... I don't think EA's Origins has a chance in hell of beating out steam though, so they might as well get their game to more customers with it.
This is because of Origin. This is really going to bite them in the ass later.
this could hinder some sales :/
thankfully, this'll be in my PS3 disc drive through New Years
