Weekend Warrior 07/01/11 (Super Awesome Video Edition)

by Annette Gonzalez on Jul 01, 2011 at 02:34 PM

This week we decided to try something a little different for Weekend Warrior. Watch as Ben Hanson and I sneak up on GI editors in the office (and on the street) and coerce them to tell their weekend plans on film. It's ridiculous.

The following GI staffers were either not in the office today or threatened to kill us if we put them in the video:

Jeff C: It's a nice three-day weekend, which means I should be able to squeeze in a little quality gaming time. The fact that it's as hot as a blast furnace outside and my game room is nice and air-conditioned doesn't hurt, either. I think my plan will be to see as many closing credits as I can. In other words, I'm going to finally finish some games I abandoned. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2, Crysis 2, Duke Nukem Forever, Alpha Protocol -- You're all going down. I realize they may not all be among the greatest games of all time, but I started 'em and I should finish 'em.

Jeff A: While I'm still reveling in the beauty that is Ocarina of Time 3D, I'm hoping to make a big push to finish off Infamous 2 this holiday weekend. I've been loving it so far and Cole's new powers really make you feel quite invincible. This, of course, will coincide with some brats, baseball, friends, fireworks, and pretty much partaking in as much slothery as I can manage. Good times.

Jeff M: I know I should probably use the extended weekend to finish off L.A. Noire, Dead Rising 2, or one of the countless other games I’m halfway through, but I think I might raid the vault instead and start something completely different. Maybe a racing or strategy game? Or maybe I’ll just blow some crap up in another shooter. It is July 4th, after all.

Ben Hanson:
This weekend I’m going to spending a lot of time at the lake, but I will try and slip in as much gaming as possible. I will be playing bocce ball, baseball, and in between diving competitions I will be playing ping pong until my hands bleed. I am also planning on bringing my DS and will most likely find some quiet time to continue playing through Radiant Historia. Playing this great JRPG feels like comfort food, unfortunately it’s a tub of ice cream that takes 50 hours to finish. I also downloaded Puzzle Agent 2 on my PC, I loved the first game and am hoping to find time to dive into the second. Oh, and on the iPhone front I will most likely be playing more 1-Bit Ninja, Flick Golf, Death Rally, and Drop 7. I hope you all enjoy the video and your long weekend!

That's it for us. Tell us your weekend plans in the comments section!
