New York Museum Unveils Gaming Event
One of the world's premiere art museums is hosting a one-night video game event, and you're invited.
In the wake of this week's big story cementing games as protected expression, we're getting word of a cool event coming to New York City's Museum of Modern Art on July 27th. Joystiq has the scoop on the event, which is being co-hosted by the museum and gaming magazine Kill Screen.
The event, entitled "Arcade," will include playable looks at several independent game projects including Bit.Trip Beat, Canabalt, Limbo, and Project Synapse, a new Kinect project from a team including former Harmonix developers Matt Boch and Ryan Challinor. The various games will be scattered around the museum for play by attendees.
Lest you believe these sorts of things are far beyond your means and station, tickets are available to the public for the one night event for only $16, or you can be fashionably late to the party and pay $20 at the door.
